A cofounder of Not One More – York, Alyssa Rohrbaugh reached out to Vickie Glatfelter when she heard about her efforts to help addicts & their families. Her own son, Tanner, was struggling with addiction at the time. The two formed NOM in 2014 & have grown the organization to where it is today – a provider of financial assistance for addicts, a means of comfort for families whose loved ones are struggling with addiction or have been lost to overdose, an advocate for addicts & families who need access to resources.

I started learning everything I could about addiction around 2013 when my youngest daughter, Jacki, was arrested, and I could no longer deny that she struggled with substance use disorder (SUD). I joined several groups to gather as much knowledge as possible on addiction and recovery. As I focused all my attention on Jacki, I was unaware that my eldest daughter, Stefanie, also struggled with substance use; she lost her battle on Nov. 4, 2018. The loss of Stefanie, along with the frightening realization of possibly losing two children to this disease, brought me to Not One More C.A.R.E.S., the organization’s support group for those whose lives were being impacted by addiction. David Cummins grew up surrounded by family in Stewartstown. At 15, he began his journey into addiction and alcoholism. He ultimately struggled with an opiate addiction that tore his life apart for years. After attempting inpatient and outpatient treatment a dozen times, overdosing twice and being saved by Not One More's free Narcan, countless attempts to stay sober, and losing many loved ones to overdoses, he finally found his path to recovery. He is now married with a son, and he and his wife own a small business. David has volunteered for NOM for a number of years, including helping at the 5K, running the stand at the York Fair and tie-dying t-shirts.

My daughter Caitlin Emily Cadden passed of an accidental heroin overdose on April 26, 2015, at 23 years old. The York County Coroner referred me to a woman, Vickie Glatfelter, who was willing to talk with people who experienced the tragic loss of a child to overdose. A complete stranger helped me in that moment more than anyone else could. Vickie was the past president and co-founder of Not One More-York Chapter. Sadly, she passed away in 2021. Since then, I have been actively involved with the group and their many acts of kindness for the recovery community and those in active addiction. I joined the board of Not One More in 2022. I hope to help educate people, to talk to whoever will listen to me about addiction. The stigma surrounding addiction needs to stop now.
